Non working gas light in QX4

I have a '97 QX4 with a non working gas light. I have replaced the bulb and checked all fuses (which are good). My gas gauge works and is accurate. Any ideas as to what I should check next?

See page EL-103 of the FSM for a diagnostic procedure for the fuel warning lamp sensor.

The gas light is supposed to illuminate very close to E, similar to this:



Have you had the fuel gauge this low without the gas light illuminating?

Oh my yes! Much much lower! It was practically straight down, and still nothing. Will check out the link. Thank you!
