Is it possible, with the right ecu, to make a rb25 naturally aspirated? Some how raising the compression or using nitrous when need be. Just a thought

I've noticed turbo motors are on the unrealible side more or less. I rather shoot nos or meth to get my power when I need it. I had a ca with 15psi and if I drove it normally I would get 15mpg. I don't need 250hp all the time

if you were getting 15mpg with a ca18 then something was terribly wrong.
on a car i swapped years ago (rb20) the owner got 28mpg on a regular basis...only after did we install bigger injectors did the mpg drop and it only fell to 27mpg.
this was a mix of city and highway driving.

to answer your question, yes you can pull the turbo gear off and put in high comp slugs.
any ems can be used really or just slap a factory na computer on there and call it done.

sure you were running really rich or had an issue, I had a ca w/ sr turbo on 11lbs for a year n got 25-27mpg, and that's occasional boosting

id recommend just sticking with the rb25 turbo. thats what i have in my s14 and my gas mileage is still good. as long as you dont floor it through every gear you'll be fine

so you want to remove a perfectly fine turbo setup and run f*** nitrous to INCREASE reliability? are you retarded?

This guy obviously doesn't know much more than what you read in magazines about cars.

OP--If you are primarily concerned with reliability, why would you do a motor swap in any vehicle? Also, you know most of the RB25's in the world are n/a from the factory, right?

I suggest an LS1 swap.
