Well the problem that I thought was fixed after replacing a melted clump of wires has resurfaced with a vengance.

At every light rpm's bounce btwn 0 - 1000 and then stall. I lose powerstearing although radio ac etc would stay on.

I have cleaned my MAF so its not that it would be dirty only dead I suppose.

Any thoughts?

Resurfaced? Did it run ok right after the wires got fixed?

It's a symptom that a bad MAF produces, but it could certainly be something else after that melt job.

yeah it resurfaced after about a half day

Someone had suggested the fuel pump could be an issue I poked my head in the trunk and I can hear the pump running. It isnt what I would call loud but i can hear it. Are you supposed to hear anything back there at all?

Yes, the FP is not silent when your head is in the trunk.

i think you need to start tracing you wiring or think about replacing the subharness.

The rpm hunting isn't a symptom of a fuel delivery problem. It sounds more like the electronics, and likely because something got shorted in the melt, or not spliced correctly.

If it ran correctly for awhile, that should point you to something that failed after the splicing.

CEL? Any codes?

Borrow or buy a used MAF and see what happens.
