My '96 Q is in it's twilight years so I'm going to baby it to keep it going 7/10 more years.So a fun and fast highway car is what I'm looking for.Found a great price on a MB '06 S65 AMG.If any knows or cares, wondering if the AMG makeover makes the car more reliable than the usual unreliable S class or just more mega bucks to keep up???????

Never seen a hopped up stressed out version of a normal motor MORE reliable, or even AS reliable. The recent S class cars have not enjoyed a trouble-free life, and have slipped in quality compared to the Lexus/Infiniti flagships.

Oh I miss the 80`s when the MB 560SEL was the best car in the world.

Probably more money. It's a friggin turbocharged V12.

I bet ultimately you would prefer an E63 with the performance option.

A current generation XKR is not a bad car either if room is not an issue.
