I have been getting the TPMS light come up more often than normal. When I got my new tires, I thought the shop might have forgotten to put the sensors back, but they said they are in there. I used to have OEM spec tires on the OEM rims (215/55/17) and I wanted a more flushed look with the tires and fenders, so I went up to 225/xx/xx and I think that could be the problem? Could running a different than OE tire trip off the sensors?

I also realized that I could step up one more higher to 235/xx/xx since I still have some room to work with, but I do know that going from 215 to 235 will make the car slower by some %. (I used the tire size calculator)

Different size tires do not affect the TPMS, but the shop should have replaced anything that was suspect. You may need a new TPMS sending unit. I believe they are just battery powered.

totally didnt think about the batteries in the sensors. I'm assuming they wont need to be reprogrammed?..

im very meticulous..as soon as the sign comes on..the moment i get home or wherever im going..i'll bust out the tire gauge but it reads 32 or whatever is on the sticker on the drivers side door...i figured someting was up.

thanks.
