On a separate post I noted a concern that I only got 27K on my original OEM front tires. Several noted that, considering the high performance nature of both the car and tire, this was actually quite good. Does anyone have any suggestions for none OEM tires that might improve on this milage while retaining relatively quite tire noise?

I like the Kumho Ecsta SPT!

255/45/17 or 255/50/17

I have 28k on my coupe and still have tons of tread life left. Unfortunately the fronts are cupping so I'll have to do something soon. Regardless, from a performance perspective I'd go with 245-35-19's front and 275-30-19 rear. For the sedan, you can probably do similar but in 18's (I went with the factory sized 225/245 combo for my sport sedan)

Brand wise the Hankook Ventus S4's seem to be OK thus far on the sedan and I've had Kumho ASX before and they worked well. Yokohama DB's sucked, IMO, as did Sumitomo HTR+ (due to low mileage before they get hard).

I ran Yokohama S-drives they were almost as good as the Kumho SPT. Better ride a little easier to break loose on full throttle.

I had the DB S2's and hated them. Couldn't keep them balanced at all.

That is frustrating!

We have the same issue on our Sequoia, Goodyear Eagle II's 275/60/17 and the truck shakes at anything above 70mph. Here in Phoenix most of the traffic is moving 75-85mph on our freeways. Speed limit in town is 65 out of town 75

My wife does hit the curb at least once a day so that may be why

I went to Yoko S-drives on my 05 coupe and they were great! I'll probably go with them on the 09 sedan when the time comes.

The S-drives were great but not as good dry traction as the Kumho SPT. The Kumho didn't ride as smooth as the S-drives though. The tread is pretty much the same

You guys are lucky as you don't usually have to worry about snow. If it's going to snow I leave the coupe in the driveway and drive the sedan.

FWIW, I was wrong about the tires, they are Ventus V4 ES's. I took the word of the Infiniti tech that they were good all season tires and have been doing "ok" with them in snow (drove in 2" fresh snow this past weekend). Tire Rack didn't have any ratings on them when I bought them but they do now and show that they only have a "fair" rating in any form of snow. That irritates the crap outta me and explains quite a few things.
