ok, so i have a 98 mitsubishi galant with 176k miles on it. still starts with one turn of the key. got a new transmission and cooling system this year (brother left it in 2nd on the freeway and fried it)

so i want to freshen up the car. got new tires on it, needs new shocks and springs. i plan on replacing spark plugs, valve cover gasket, air filter, fuel filter, clean out the throttle body, oil pan gasket (its leaking) etc.

now my question is. should i go ahead and remove the head and have it heat tanked and etc? would the benefit > than the effort?

anything else i should consider doing? wanna keep it running for my little brother and get as much use out of it as i can. paint is surprisingly in good condition with the exception of dents for a 9 year old car.

benefit = it'd be clean. Not worth the effort imo. Get a couple cans of degreaser and deal with it that way instead of a hot tank.

Replace the timing belt every 60K. You will never cure Mitsubishi oil leaks, just feed them. Do not open that motor up.
