When I last ordered filters, etc., from Joe, his guys goofed and sent me ALL M30 filters (12 on hand!)! Last old style Q filter currently on vehicle. Absent access to a Nissan filter, what is the best filter to use with the Mobil 1 until I can reorder from Joe? I have heard of a "Mobil 1 filter", but have never seen/used one....yet.

My 92 Q (124K miles) will be driven from East Coast on Monday to its new home in southern NM (I have had enough of green mold growing inside the car here in this climate!). I am eagerly looking forward to I 10 west of San Antonio! On one of these runs a few years back, I had the CB antenna start slipping off the trunk lid at something over 150 mph! I made it into Ft Stockton on fumes, the Q loving 93 at those speeds! One of the finest road cars ever built! Long Live the Series 1 Q45!

IMO, Amsoil make not only the best oil, but the best filters too. If I were you, I'd run with the Amsoil, or the Mobil 1 filters.

Amsoil and M1 both make great filters..... THe m1 is probably closest to the OEM 60U00.....

Still, nissan genuine is going to be better than most OTC brands..... something to keep in mind...

Stop off in Austin and I'll give you an original OEM filter. Have crush washers also.

After you go, it's Heath and me. I think he wins with only one VH.

Youre better off switching anyway. Nissan changed manufacturing facilities and designs so the new OEM filter is no better than a $2 Supertech (which I used for a year).

here are a few good sites for unbiased testing of oil filters,,,,the first site has many good articles,,,,,take some time and check it out! can't go wrong with a mobil1 filter, what i use. but if money is an object seems that the puralotor pure one has good filtering and flow capabilities..................

Thanks for imputs, folks!

Q ship received its pre-flight yesterday, tightening up the rack hoses, which had begun to leak a wee bit around the fitting. A/C blowing down to 37 just in case El Paso is warmish, come Thursday/Friday! Michelin Pilots at Q45 Tech pressures. Tank topped off with 93 (looking forward to Chevron with Techron additive, a gas that is rare around here.) Stillen hood and bumper bra installed to ward off bugs, stones, and wee *** cars!

Usually spend time with old USAF buddy in San Antonio, quaffing a few Lone Stars, but, just may head up to Austin to visit another ex-USAF buddy for a Shiners, or two, or threee, or......! If I do, I will give you a call, Maxnix! Thanks for offer of filter!

Nice! I just checked my stock and I only have three 60U00's left. Nine 55Y00's so the truck is set for a while.

John... Nissan discontinued the 60U00 (grey) filter for the Q a couple of years ago. They now specify the 55Y00 (blue) filter for the car. That means that Joe sent you the right filter. So...

Good news - both your M and you Q now use the same filter.

Bad news - the Q doesn't get as good of a filter from the factory. I guess our engines were lasting too long.

When I exhaust my supply of 60U00's I'll probably switch to Mobil 1 filters - which Joe also sells at a really good price. What I can't understand is why Nissan didn't supercede both parts with a new "super new improved" filter with a different part number! Paint it green or something... then we would all think they actually cared about the old cars.

Heath

What? You mean like Mercedes or BMW?

Sorry, we are not in that class. Need to get G50 off the road! Designed by old Japanese regime! Not as good as our current cars.
