I Think I read somewhere that in canada s13's came with a standard 3point seatbelt harness instead of the peice of **** automatic seatbelts. I really really want to convert my auto seatbelts because they are a pain in the arse...

Does anybody know?

I don't know if they did or not. I did have my assembly off for a while and the holes needed for the seatbelt are in place. I am trying to get a friend send me some stuff from japan and that was near the top of my list. I hope someone who knows if canada has them replies...Gregg

Why do you want to get rid of the auto seat belt mine saves my a whole $2.13 on my insurance. Where as abs or air bags would have save me $150, oh well.

I personally want to replace mine because it hurts to sit on the lap belt thingie by thr door and I hit my shoulder on the part that slides at least once a week and i don't drive it that often! Gregg

Im with this guy- the auto seatbelt is a horrible idea. Its not even really saving me any time cause i still have to fasten the lap belt, and if i get in a wreck with just the shoulder belt, i will hang and die. nothing like a good old manual three point belt.

Canadian model S13s come with standard belts, or you can retrofit S14 belts also. The install is very straightforward. You'll only need a longer bolt and spacer for the upper attachment.

Just a word of advice, for those with the auto seatbelts, ALWAYS fasten the lower belt. I have heard that people had their head cut off b/c they did not have their lower bodies straped down when involved in an accident. eww...

Plus on my old (94) Sentra, I got in and out of the car a lot (pizza delivery) and the motor blew out with the seatbelt in mid raise. I hate auto-seat belts, they are the worst. I hated driving around worrying about getting a seatbelt ticket (for months). I wasn't going to fix it because I was junking the car soon anyway, what a pain in the ***.

That's probably the main reason I didnt get an S13. My girlfriend's escout has Auto seatbelt and I HATE them.

If you get rid of the automatic seatbelts, can you get the trim from a candian car easily to get rid of the track and such too?

yeah im gonna get me some 4 pts. my parents are *****ing at me about doing it though cause they say its a hassel to get in and out but then im just like ok i will just forget to fasten lap belt one day and boom im slidin out the bottem of my seat.

got a question on the placment of the ends. where should i bolt the ends of the belts down i was thinking the bottom to stock locations and top to the cieling or drop it down to the floor.

anyone got any ideas?

A friend of mine just put a harness in his 67 buick gs and it is a B**** to drive with. It makes it near impossible to turn around to look backwards, and its just a pain to put on everytime. I would only get one if you are installing a roll cage like K said, and if you are running 9's and actually have a need for that level of protection.

Just curious, but whats the reasoning behind that? I'm not being a smartass or anything, i just want to know.

Is there any company that makes pre-fabricated simple roll cages? Ive seen some, but there all for honda civics and things like that.
