i know this question has been asked before, and i already searched the boards... some people are saying its a completely bad idea and others are saying drop it no more than an inch and the shocks wont blow after a few months. i just bought KYB GR-2's and i want to lower it... should i take my chances or not risk it at all?

Go ahead and lower it. It will be fine.

Non-adjustables work great. I have TEIN S.TECH's and KYB GR-2's and I've never had a greater experience, you do not need adjustability. I drift but not everyday, and I drag but once again, only on the weekends, as long as the car is not race only, non-adjustable is to cost effective to ignore

The GR-2 dampers are aprox. 15-18% firmer than stock units. While they will tell you they are not designed for use with lowering springs when it comes to any warranty issues, I have them on a car with a 1.5" drop for three years now and have had no issues. Anything lower than 1.5" and I'd step up to something designed for that kind of drop.

Hands down, that is the best post ever.

You need adjustability to properly tune a car's suspension, but for most people you don't need it. If you ask "how will my car ride" then you don't need adjustability.

I would absolutely recommend S. TECH's, they are the best spring I have ever ridden on. That same friend of mine with the AGX's bought Eibachs and he ended up returning them because he didn't like them(felt soft, and they were NOISY), trust me, you will not regret S. TECH's. Thank you Nismo_Freak and SmithSR, I'm flattered to be recognized by you both.

thanks for the info... ill get the Tien S Tech's then, they sounld like the way to go... well im not really lowering it for better handling/performance (which is what it will do anyway) but more for the looks of the car... drifts14x do u have pics of your ride with them on?
