I saw a an Indoor/Outdoor halogen garage and patio heater today at Sam's and it looks like a pretty good deal. They're selling online for about $70 - $80. The price in my local club was $39.

It's selectable between 600W and 1200W. I think I may try one... I have a small screened porch that I like to use for an occasional cigar, and it would be nice to be warm if I go out there in the winter.

I actually bought a garage air conditioner last summer, so I might as well have a heater there too!

Has anyone tried one of these?

hmmm.. I have a small heater that is 1000W and it uses a fan, I bought it at walmart for like $20

Is your porch screened in without windows, or does it have windows? Reason I ask is if you're just trying to keep yourself warm a radiant style heater like the one you show will probably work better, but a forced air heater will work better if you're trying to heat an entire area.

Looks like it would be nice addition to your Lanai in that it can be wall mounted.

It reminds me of the type of heaters some outdoor seating restaurants have this time of year..

I picked up two of these industrial looking "pump house" heaters at Fred's discount in the $20s range for the garage. I had them blowing warm air on me while I worked on the Q.

Heath, that heater looks similar to one used by the local lip smackin rib/pit beef stand to keep customers warm as they wait for their sandwich!!!! If so, they work very well !!!!!

Wes... no windows on the porch.

I think I'll have to try one and see how it works.
