i just bought a 96 200sx se-r. it has a few mods on it but the clutch was slipping so i put a xtd stage 2 6 puck clutch in works great but today when i opened her up ran till bout redline in 1st 2nd and third it was great shut the car off and let it cool now i have really noisy lifters just wondering what i may have done and what i need to do to fix the problem? here is the details on the car.

Did you do a proper warm up before running it hard like that? If you started it up and took off immediately, you didn't have proper oil pressure and could have done all sorts of fun things to the internals.

Is the clutch broken in? It could be clutch/flywheel chatter.

Are you sure you're not just paying more attention to the noise?

Why on earth do you have a puck-style clutch on a mostly-stock DE?

Please delete the other thread since it's the same thing. Go into it, click "edit" then look at the bottom for the "delete" option.

it had a proper warmup bout 10 min. now i did see on here and other places that i might need to bleed the lifters is that a common problem on de's? yea its broken in little over 600 miles. the noise dosnt change when clutch is in or out. well i was able to get the clutch cheaper than a oem and figured it wouldnt hurt with the mods that are done.

Try bleeding the lifters.

A puck clutch is awfully harsh, and overall it's completely unnecessary, that's why I was curious.

bleeding the lifters how hard is that to do? see i thought the same thing bout the clutch but it fells really no dif that the stock one just grabs a little better.
