my stupid coupe has so many lil noises that annoy hte hell out of me...feels like a cheap american car...which technically is an american car..but its not cheap hahah

hmm lets start..

- somewhere in my dash, i hear something loose, when ever i hit a bump i here a tick or 2

- passenger chair pully thing (thing u lift up to move chair, on the left side of the chair) bounces up and down making knocking clicks

- my driver door has noises sometimes while driving on the highway

any more please post, and post ur solutions...please dont give me: "turn music louder"... i dont think thats considered a solution..

I too got the noise in the dash every time I go over a bump. It is driving me crazy. I can't not seem to locate it. If anyone has, post it up PLEASE !!

I had some major squeaks and ticks in the dash. There is a lot of plastic on plastic parts behind the nav/radio/cd changer. I took it all out and lined these parts with felt tape (especially where the covers snap on to the unit). Then reinstalled everything making sure all the bolts were tight. For the most part, this quelled the majority of the problems I was having. Only took an hour or 2 from start to finish.

Now it's time for all the rattles in the back. And I can't just turn up the music cause there is a certain frequency the rattles the heck out of my rear deck lining

It's actually really simple. I followed a writeup a guy did on fixing the navi vss but just looked at the pictures for taking it apart. I can't remember if it was on this forum or not so I'll have to search and see if I can find it.

New addition to my noise list: My sunroof has developed a sort of creaking sound, especially during times of body flex (i.e. pulling out of a sloped parking lot). Really annoying. Just started within the last couple days but pretty constant now. I'm going to try to clean and maybe moisturize the weather strip around it. I think that's the culprit. Oh well...

there's a recall for the sunroof guys! they made a stronger part so just go to your dealer if you hear rattle coming from the celling. I just go mine fixed and I don't hear any noise anymore!

Anyone have a link to the Recall.... I wonder if this is the cause of all my noise even though it sounds like it is the dash.

First I've heard about this as well. I remember hearing about a clip or something a while back but I don't think that's my problem. Mine is definitely a creaking between the sunroof and seals. I can push on the sunroof, even lightly, and replicate the noise.

Worth looking into still if there's some more information anywhere.

I push around but didn't hear anything until I pushed on the A-Pillars. That really seems to be where mine is coming from, but now what to do is beyond me.

lol oh yea :D

but man my dash is hella annoying and seat belts.... squeeky VERY squeeky seatbelts. When the seatbelt locks during a turn or during a stop, the locking kicks in and as i move my body the noise emerges... makes me not wana wear my seat belt...hense i should sue nissan for causing me not to want to wear my seat belt if i get injured in an accident because i did not wear my safety belt LOL

woa i dont see a link for the recall, but im assuming its for the sedans as well. because one of the rattles that drives me crazy is the sunroof. im going to the dealership just to shoot the sh*t with my service manager and talk about the NCAA tournaments..ill ask him about it.

Sorry, I don't know if its a "recall", but nissan came up with a repair kit for the rattling sunroofs:

Technical Service Bulletin or TSB like the guy in the other thread you linked to said. I don't know what the differences between TSBs and recalls are, I'd assume severity of the problem and possiblity of causing damage/injuries.

I haven't heard anyone else mention it yet but my drivers side window rattles when its down and the radio is on, or if I close the door, or if its about half way down and I close the door. I am not sure if the dealer will fix it but it is definatly recreatable. I love this car but I just wish they would have taken a little more time and got it right. Also while we are on the topic has any one else had periods of rough idle, nothing bad just feels kind of like there is a giant v8 under the hood not a silky smooth 6.

I think the service bulletin about the sunroof clip is "NTB08-028 SUNROOF SHADE CLIP LOOSE" where they replace the shade clip.

and if you hear a scraping noise when turning the steering wheel the service bulletin is "NTB08-015a 2007–2008 NISSAN ALTIMA; SCRAPING NOISE FROM STEERING WHEEL" where they re-route the ASCD harness.... Automatic Speed Control Device.

wow... so far i havent noticed any noises really - not rattling in the dash or anything. maybe a slight clunk in the front(hard to tell if its there or in the back) when i take off -- but i also have one of those 4 way folding tire wrenches rolling around in the trunk..

good luck with making the rattles go away!!

I also hear a slight clunk in the front end when I take off ..........? Has any one else heard this. It seems to happen when I pull out of my drive way ...... then thats it I don't hear it again. Also does any one hear a high pitch squeak from the inside of the cabin when on a rough road, no one else can hear this but me.

the clunk is the ABS self check, the high pitch squeak is either the seat or seat belt. I wouldn't worry about the clunk, its "normal", and most stealership service people "can't hear" the squeak, so you're **** outta luck for that, atleast I am

Thanks Notaverage, For the info on the ABS self check, that explains the clunk sound when taking off form a new start. As for the squeak, it's not that bad but just enough to let me know it's there. The funny thing is no one else can hear this but me. I do believe its coming from the rear seat now that you mentioned it because I did not hear it when I test drove the car and the sales rep was seating in the back seat.

Thanks again........................ problems solved.

I've got the dash rattle, only recently though. The sunroof rattle I've had forever- it may be slowly driving me insane. If I push up on the unit holding the lights and sunroof switch the rattle will go away and as soon as I let go I can hear the double-sided tape or whatever is supposed to be holding everything tight let loose again. I think the seatbelt rattle is the worst, completely unacceptable. I have no doubt that Nissan test drove the hell out of these cars...how do you miss/ignore that?!? I've started pulling about 3 feet of slack out and wrapping it around the back of the passenger seat... Pain in my ***.
