hey I had a 240sx 1992 and after a few months started to hear a wierd clanking noise from the fenders or the front of the car. Not really sure where from the front. And no it is not the timing chain I know about that one. But the noise doesn't start to make a noise untill it reachs 30mph and stop after 40mph. It sounds like it is coming from the fender and I checked and inspected if there was anything loose and could not find a thing. I figured it may be the wheel bearing but not really sure my steering wheel does shake a lot when I drive up to 65mph. Should I first get it aligned and hope it was the alignment making the noise or should I go fix the problem? Or should I first try to figure where the noise is coming from. If someone had the same problem or know might it be please reply. Anything would help I need an answer. The noise seems to come from my driver side fender but not really sure since that I'm in the car.

Driver side fender eh? Does it sound like the noise is RIGHT under or right infront of you? If so, theres a chance its the heat shield, either on the header OR the cat. Mine is on the cat, but my new obnoxious ricer exhause hides it. The heat shield tends to crack with age, so a bolt may be loose, the cats heat shield is the next place to look, with any luck I'd say thats where it lies.
