Noises fixed

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I got my car back this morning and it appears they have fixed my two long term noises. Noise one was a vibration rattle in the left dash near the front left speaker. This was their 3rd try at fixing this and I think they got it. The fix was to "place insulating foam between cowl and windshield". I think this noise may be a common feature with G35s and EX35s. I had heard a similar noise in two loaner cars I have had in the past but it wasn't as bad as my car was.

The 2nd noise the tapping/popping sound in the passenger foot well area under load. They did the heater core flush and I think that solved the problem also. My car was one of the first batch of EXs to hit the US and fell within the VIN ranges for the service bulletin.

To celebrate I bought a dozen cookies for the service team that worked on my car and dropped them off at the service department. It is nice driving down the freeway and not hearing the dash buzzing.

I have an annoying buzz in my dash but in the center over the navigation unit. It seems to come and go depending on the temperature and sun. Every time I go to bring it in the sound is gone. The Infiniti service dept. said it takes 4 hours to disassemble the dash.Yellowbear

hey jmess, thanks for the info. I am having the same vibration near the left front speaker. It seemed to stop if i pushed against the windshield...but that is hard to do when you are driving. I will have the service department look at your suggestion on my next visit. I am also having an vibration from the unoccupied passenger seat (at least that is where I think it is coming from.
