My 1998 Maxima is making a wooo noise when making a right turn. Checked brakes, boot in left strut is in a few pieces, but I don't think this is causing the noise.

A wooo noise?? well to me a wooo noise is what casper the freindly ghost makes...haha more description?? and is it just when you turn right? because power steering pumps make a whining noise that i guess could be heard as a wooo..check your fluid...

its almost like a humming noise or a rubbing noise. Its not a grinding or clicking noise.

How's your power steering fluid level?

Mine does that too, wait, it's me because I am usually going too fast....

Could be that you have a set of bearings looking to fail, or perhaps your brake pad is dropping onto the rotor. Can you manually duplicate the sound with the front jacked up off the ground? front end sounds are a bugger to describe and pinpoint.

i had a rubbing/grinding noise on mine one time... seems simple but i came to figure out that my splash guard had come unscrewed from the bumper and it was dragging the ground BUT ONLY when i would turn the car... check it... you never know

If you can be stopped in the car and turn the steering wheel back and forth and it makes the noise, it's probably the strut bearings on top of the struts.

CVJ or the strut.
