I just installed a lightned flywheel in my 240 (ka24de + Jun Chromoly +ACT street Strip ) replaced all the seals and whatnot...

Since the install (2days ago) there is a very high pitch metal scraping noise everytime I turn the car on.

I have experienced different cars with lightwheight flywheel and none had that problem.

A little help...

The starter seems to be in there fine...

Double check your work. Make sure you did everything correctly when you installed it.

That means pulling the transmission out again ?plz dont tell me that...

its true that I was expecting the clutch to grab a lot more than that - while pulling the transmission in - could the little metal bar going under the clutch fork came out of place and make that noise ???

I have notice this noise also on my 96 240sx. I did Fidanza with Centerforce dual Friction, about 1000 miles ago. It starts up fine though.

Sounds like what happened when I did my first clutch. The flywheel was scraping the edge of the starter housing. Just loosen the bolts and move it to the outside edge.

for future reference

Ill try that or after tomorow and see if it works.

If that was the case should it make that noise while the car is on also? Yeah, please let us know what you find.
