Maybe this one is already posted somewhere else.

For the past few mornings, I noticed that when the engine is still cold (with just 1 minute warm-up) and I go off driving, there is a slight sound made under the hood just before the speedometer reaches 20-30km. It's not a rattling sound but different one which I can't describe. It just happens once ... it goes away when th engine is warm enough.

Is this noise or sound coming from the CVT? Anyone experiencing the same thing?

Thanks Philipa but the sound I hear in my Rogue is not of the tapping sound type. It's more like the sound made by banging two springs together or if you drop a spring on another spring. It's got that "springy" sound to it.

Yeah that exact sound has been discussed at length on this forum, it is the ABS system and possibly the VDC self test, it is covered in the manual and is completely normal, so you can relax and enjoy your sweet ride!!

Yes, the VDC and ABS system will do a 'self-test' within the first few 10-15 seconds (approximately) of driving. You will hear a vibrating, clicking or even a 'spring' type noise while this is occurring. It's completely normal.
