Hi friends.
I have a 2010 Nissan ALTIMA 2.5s with 58,500 miles. I am getting this tapping/knoking noise when accelerating or when car is under load. It only occurs when accelerating from stop till it gains speed. You can listen to the sound clip link I attached the noise starts around 7sec mark. Oil level are good. With m1 synthetic.

I went to nissan dealership for inspection and emission. They checked it and said it was loose heatshield. Which they removed it. They also found leak in front exhaust pipe which they welded. Noise is still there, after a week I asked my service advisor, he said to bring car so a tech can go on a drive with me. Certainly tech heard the noise, he put the car on lift afterwards but didnot find "anything loose" - what my advisor said. My car is still under cpo warranty till September.

Please help me. Thanks I have searched everywhere but can't find solution. I almost want to sell it now, because it is a family car and cant afford for it to breakdown and we could be without car.

Well if they can hear it, they should be able to fix it. I'd keep bringing it back under warranty or possibly even try another dealership.

All I hear is a loud exhaust system.
