Have '90 Q with 134K miles. Have noise in rear. Does it need a change in rear end oil? The rear end is now full of oil. I also have a small shake when the car is idealing.Usually quites after the car is warmed up.

If differential fluid has not been changed regularly (every 30K miles MINIMUM) then differential could be bad. Could be bad even if differential fluid was changed regularly.... somewhat common high mileage/old age failure item.

Best option is junkyard unit, new ones are expensive.

If it's buzzing or whining noise then you need a fuel pump, but I don't think fuel pumps "roar."

Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.

Plenty of info here - Start with intake/plenum/TB/injector/MAF sensor cleaning and replacement of all fluids incl. rear diff fluid. Mobil 1 90w is a good choice.
