I have a 2000 Frontier Crew Cab truck and it's very noisy inside. I've installed a heat/noise deadener insulation on the underside of the hood and it's not working. Is there a way to reduce the noise? Are all Nissan vehicles noisy? I also have a Ford Explorer and it is far quieter than the Frontier. Of course, the Explorer is much newer.

Welcome to NICOClub!

Is it engine noise that you're hearing? It's possible you might have an exhaust leak somewhere, or maybe have something loose under the hood. I'm not extremely familiar with the Frontier, but our QX4 had an exhaust leak under the car, around the catalytic converter that was quite noisy. You could also have a leak around an exhaust manifold as well. These are just guesses based on my experience, but somebody may be able to chime in soon with a more detailed answer for your vehicle.

If it's just generally noisy, you may try installing some sound deadening material like Dynamat(or similar) inside the cab of the truck instead.

I had exhaust leaks and my truck was very loud outside and inside until I got it fixed! Now I could barely hear the engine!!

The noise I hear in the cabin is from engine and wind. It's a loud combination. I hope Nissan/Infiniti make better insulated vehicles so it won't be so noisy. I was thinking about buying a Rogue, but after reading the online forums, the Rogue is just too noisy for me. It's really disappointing because I am a Nissan fan.

I am not saying this is the cause of noise but I have seen this in other cars. I have found that the bottom of the windshield has lost its seal at the base so all the wind and engine noise just funneled into the cab of the car.
