I've had my K&N for about 10 days now and I find that the roar is less then it was upon fresh install. Could be that I am just getting used to the sound. Now the complaint: K&N encloses a new tube for your cracnk case vent hose to connect to the air inlet tube after the MAF. I didn't use it because it's not in the instructions. 5 days of driving around I popped the hood to make sure everything was tight and I find stess patterns inbetween the threads of the supplied cap that goes into the air tube. WTF? SO I go to put in the one K&N supplied and it just bends inhalf and cuts off the would be air exchange. I've got it all tightened now and it all looks good but I wonder why they supply that tube is even included, let alone not mentioned. Last question.....Anyone know what that tube does? I've done a couple SRI installs and never seen that crank case tube.Thanks---Humboldt01 (02)

That's interesting, it seems like mine got louder as I started driving with it. Perhaps you did get used to the sound.

Know anything about what the crank case tube does?
