noise in the engine bay

I changed my oil today and as I let my car run and cycle the new oil through the engine, I heard a clicking noise that sounded like it was coming from the intake manifold. the click was somewhat loud and seemed to happen every second. From what I have read I think it might be the Knock sensor. the name is appropriate for the sound that it makes lol. I have found a lot on how to change the knock sensor and if that is the problem, I just havent found anything about how to tell if your knock sensor is bad. I guess im just looking for someone to back me up on my theory without me having to pay a dealer.

note: this is my first car so im learning how to fix problems as they happen, any help is greatly appreciated.

I dont have an ohmmeter as of now, so are there any semptoms of a bad knock sensor? My gas mileage is terrible and I dont think my throttle response from 1K to 3K is as strong as it should be.

It's not your knock sensor dude, knock sensor is like a inch and half size, and it's bolted, so that's not it.

Look at the FAQ sticky and check your car for codes. If the knock sensor is bad, you will have a code stored, but the check engine light will not turn on.
