Noise in rear suspention passenger side only

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have a 2008 EX35 AWD Journey with about 19k. The noise sounds like it might have been a wheel nut that came off. It ONLY happens when the REAR PASSENGER wheel goes over a slightly droped manhole cover or similar pothole. It does not make the noise when going over a raised bump, only on the drop. This happens every time and is just a single metalic maybe..claping or click noise, not a rattle of any kind. The tech at the dealer heard the noise both times, as this is now the second time I've brought it in. The first time they attempted to fix it by replaceing the sway bars, the second time was by tightening a few loose things up, in other words, they have no clue. So, here I am. Any thoughts? As I am bringing it in for roof rail warranty work in a few days. Many thanks!

Could be the rear axle needs to be lubricated or it could be a loose strut. Or a number of other things :)

Def have Infiniti check it out and avoid pot holes ;)

Thanks for the reply. I'll pass the suggestions along to the dealer. Gota love noises! I live in Michigan, so we prefer the pothole method of paving! :chuckle: The car is super quite otherwise, and I only hear it when the window is down, so I'll live in the meantime.
