I am not endorsing nor am I advertising. these products I am not a rep or sell either of these products. I am simply trying to find out who on this forum has used, heard about or have had any experiences with either of them or any other product out there that is similar that he/she would like to mention about sound proofing our noisy “Z’s”.

I feel the road noise in my “Z” is unusually loud!! Do any of you find your “Z” to loud? Either I hear all kinds of road noise from the wheel wells or the bottom of my “Z”. I have tried all kinds of different tires to attempt to reduce the road noise so that the cars ride is less noise free.

In my boats I have uses successfully a product call SILENT RUNNING http://www.silentrunning.us/

Cost is about $200.00 per Gallon you paint on or spray on. You do it yourself or have a shop do it for around $200.00 more $$$’s So $400.00 total.

statement taken from their websiteCurrent Composites is a world-class manufacturer of Silent Running - the best performing and cost effective soundproofing and vibration dampening products. Our liquid-based sound proofing coatings utilize a space-age viscoelastic polymer system that virtually eliminates unwanted sound and vibration problems.

The viscoelastic properties of Silent Running liquid-based coatings absorbs the noise and vibration and converts it into low-grade heat, which is dissipated throughout the applied surface. It adheres to any surface and since it’s a liquid, it goes on easy like paint with a brush, roller or spray, and takes up less space and weighs less than existing sound proofing technologies like mats and wraps. Just paint it on and and feel the difference.

And/orDynaMat http://www.dynamat.com/

Cost is $400.00 for the product and have it installed according to Car Toys Shops here in town.

Your vehicle looks great and runs great. Would you want it to drive and feel like a newer, more expensive luxury vehicle? Of course you would. Dynamat makes your car ride and feel more solid. Dynamat is the world’s leading product for eliminating unwanted noise, vibration, and heat. Dynamat is the pro’s choice for turning Hot Rods into cool, quiet, and comfortable rides. Your sound system will also sound better too!

ANY EXPERIENCES OUT THERE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?

ANY OTHER IDEAS YOU HAVE TRIED THAT DID OR DID NOT WORK??

ANY OTHER PRODUCTS YOU HAVE USED OR CAME ACROSS TO KNOW ABOUT BEFORE I USE ONE OF THE 2 LISTED ABOVE??

Thanks for your feedback in advance

yea I notice road noise in my Z... I don't think i'm really bothered by it because I ALWAYS have music playing. Sometimes I enjoy silent rides.. I didn't notice it much when I got it but after a while I noticed the road noise.

This was something that I noticed even on the test drive. But like the poster before me, I always have music playing fairly loud anyways, so I wasn't TOO concerned with it.

It's the Stereo Mechanic! Hear some problem with your car? Just crank up the stereo and it instantly goes away! Hahaha

You know I love my tunes. Between <<<XM>>>, IPOD Plugin, FM, CD ect I love my tunes but I really am talking the quality of the ride. I have better KONI Shock and it did not change it at all. Better handling performance from them yes but change the accual noise, NO Tires were a big factor, and the softer the tire the quieter the noise but the faster they go away and then the original problem comes back with harder rubber so it got to be a body thing. They Car Tunes guys are sold on the $400.00 Dynamat application and rave about it. When I say to them let me have some names and numbers of customers and do they use it I get that dumb founded look if you know what I mean. I had a fair amount of luck with the Silent Running product when I applied it to the boat engine cowling and all the stern inside walls I could get a spray wand to on the SeaSwirl. Even put it behind the speaker holes not that on a ocean boat you can tell the differance with speaker quality but engine noise it was a positive experience.

if the problem is road noise, look into quieter tires, some tires are made form quiet comforatble cruising, and others are made for traction, sounds like you want the comfy cruisers, I just can't bare the thought of adding more weight and more deadening materioal to a car that slready has too much deadening for my liking

Dude, you have a Z. It is a sports car. If you want quiet, get a Porsche.

NO! if you want quiet. get a bmw. A porsche is a sports car that can be comfortable. NOT a luxury car. Trust me. Ride in a new 997 and you will understand what i mean.
