Since 2002 redesign these light duty engines have been more problematic since Nissan didn't overbuild to add strength.
Thinner rings, bearings, and everything optimized by massive computer time to cut costs.
Sure the engine is a little bit more powerful than the old monster, but it does so by reducing longevity and quietness.
To prolong life make sure you never drive away until the engine is fully warmed to operating temperature especially in colder than 70F ambient weather.
Failure to follow this advice will take decades and hundreds of thousand miles miles off of peak life.
But then again I'm probably the only one that owns the same vehicle for 20 years and 327,000 miles.
