noise in front suspension

At 15,000 miles, my 2012 Versa sedan began making a scrunching noise when going over bumps. The dealer replace the strut mounts. Now, one year and 15,000 miles later, it's doing it again. The noise is actually more pronounced on the exention rather than the compression. Anybody know what's making this noise and why?
