Dear all,

The wheel under driver seat makes noise when driving. If driving faster, the noise is faster. This is not the low-brake high pitch noise, the brake is fine.

I took the car to a garage, lifted it up, removed the wheel, loosed the brake, started the car, still heard the noise. I was told it is the bearing which should be replaced.

This happened a few months ago, and lasted for a week or two, then the noise disappeared by itself.

Last week, i felt the same wheel was not running very quitely and smoothly as before. It seemed to be a bit shaking when driving. It is the similar feeling as a flat tire. This feel only lasted for one day.

Now the car seems to be normal.

Should i worry about this?

Thanks in advance,

jack

jack the car up and see if you have play from top to bottom - usually a sign of a bad wheel bearing.

Also look to check the inner tie rod ends.

you would only really hear the wheel bearings under load(car on the road) unless the bearings are TORE UP. What does the noise sound like? rubbing, grinding, screeching, etc?

Sometime you can check the temperature of the bearing andsee if it is too high(too high=bad bearing). One of those lasertemperature machines would be useful (prices are coming downon these)
