I just recently replaced the front struts with the all in one FCS unit from Rock auto. I'm getting some noise from the passenger side mount. Is there problem with the part or something? Is there some kind of lube I can spray in there to quiet it without degrading the mount and not having to take everything apart?

Eta the noise is when turning the wheel and the strut housing rotates. I'm also getting noise when going over bumps, but I'm not sure that's not something different. That noise was there before the struts were done.

This is the exact noise. I did not notice the coil jumping like that though.

I tried some white lithium grease as suggested on another forum to no avail. I guess I just got a bad strut mount. This is really annoying because I just replaced the same side cv axle twice. The boot tore not a month after replacing it the first time. At least that was under warranty and the shop redid it, but damn.

Rock Auto said to just order another and then return the bad one. :argh

In case anyone is actually following this, I replaced the strut with the new unit today. I threw in some new stabilizer bar links for good measure since the ball joints seemed to have a lot of play. Unfortunately it was a few days before the first strut mount started making noise. Hopefully this one will be good.

Jesus titty f'ing christ! This one sounds even worse! A mechanic I know suggested the top bolts weren't tight enough. I tried tightening then a little more and now one bolt is just spinning. Buyer beware with these FCS strut assemblies.
