noise from my fuel pump

It's the strangest thing. Randomly when I start my car my fuel pump will make a loud high pitch whine, it will continue until I turn the car off. I'll start the car back up and the whine is gone.

What could be going on? I'll be taking it into the dealership at some point since it's all under warranty, but I thought I'd ask on here in the mean time.

Is it a *very* high-pitched whine, and very faint? Mine has that sort of whine, and I don't know what it is. I can hear it from inside the cabin. (Until I start moving. I've got the tire feathering problem, and can't hear anything once underway.) Probably I should try hearing it from outside the car. (Where's the fuel pump in a Z? Under the hood, or in the tank? I'm suspecting in the tank, but I don't know for sure.) Anyway, nobody but me can hear it, so I haven't done anything about it yet. If it IS the fuel pump, I should get it taken care of.

Let us know if you find out anything. My car is an '07, btw.
