I have just added a 93 Q45 to the stable and run into a new problem.

While driving my antilock brake light came on. I only had a few miles to go and everything seemed okay. After dinner and showing a friend the new Q, I noticed that there was a noise come from under the hood while the car was off.

It seems that the black solenoid (I think) next to the ABS system near the fierwall on the passenger side was buzzing.

I ended up driving home with no problems, but the buzzing was still there. I finally decided to disconnent the battery to stop the buzzing.

Any ideas where to look from here ??

I know that I need to get a FSM. Are the CD based one on ebay worthwhile? Where should I get one.

Thanks from Atlanta and I guess I'm back to my old Nissan truck for a while.

You probably need a new ABS relay. Not a real common issue on the Q's but on the J30s its quite common. HIt up Joe at infiniti of scottsdale.

Pretty typical issue on 90-93. ABS relays are under that black cover. You can probably tap it and unstick the relay as a temporary fix. They are fairly standard automotive relays, so you can probably get a replacement at a local parts place. Welcome to NICO!
