I brought it (2007 Nissan Murano) into the dealership last Friday. They had my car for 3 hours and they couldn't figure out what's wrong, so they told me to bring it back tomorrow. Here are the symptoms.
- Noise is originating in the front of the car; somewhere in front of the shifter, underneath the car
- It only occurs when the car is decelerating; it seems if I accelerate the noise disappears
- The noise can be described as a steady, intermittent rattle at higher speeds, and an steady, intermittent grinding noise at slow speeds (under 10 MPH)
- The frequency of the noise is speed dependent; the faster the car is going, the more frequent it and otherwise.
- The noise can be heard while accelerating and decelerating in Reverse.
- While in Reverse, the grinding is more evident; the duration of the grinding in Reverse is longer than in Drive.
Additional details:
There is no noise when the car is at a complete stop. Locking the AWD does not seem to make the noise any less or more frequent. The noise is non-existent for the first few miles of starting and then driving the car, but comes back.
Any help please? This is starting to worry me.
