Who sells these things? So far all I've gotten is funny looks when I ask about them. I've heard they don't have them for Nissan or something like that. Exactly which one do I need? I've got a random misfire in a kae and I'd like to know which cylinder and whether it's fuel or spark...

And no, this isn't a tech question. Move it if you must, but I had intended to direct this at Chris or another Nissan tech who so frequently speak of a "gm noid light"

NISTECH found out that a gm noid light will work in place of a nissan one.

You can also buy a noid tester from Cornwell, Snap-on, and Mack. This is a testing tool that wouldn't be available through Nissan.

i use a generic adjustable unit that will work on anything. its like $20 from big tool catalogs like tool web. you can tell if an injector is firing by listening to it with a screwdriver or stethescope.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the universal ones really worked well or not.

I tried listening to the injectors, but I got sick of bending over the engine and waiting for a misfire to occur (and getting hit in the ear with a screwdriver handle when it did) only to then argue with myself over whether the injector I was eavesdropping on had truely missed a beat or if it was just me.
