Yeah.... Ortiz saved the day again. But seriously, they stand NO chance of coming back and winning four straight games against the yanks, so the agony is just prolonged.

Tek-money was playing like crap today. Him and Ramirez need to get their ish together. But besides that, all I have to say is holy comeback batman. Looks like we'll prob make it to game 7, just to lose of course, but I'd be happy with them nonetheless. GO SOX!!!!!

The Sox can't even get a decisive win AT HOME!!! How can we expect them to win in NY?

I'm still pulling for them... but this is just going to make their eventual defeat that much more annoying.

P.S. IF they happen to pull this off and win this series... then forget everything I've said. I will gladly eat crow!

Anyone who is not a yankees fan will not give a damn about the World Series if the yankees beat Boston. No one cares. It's a bore, yawwwwn. If Boston goes to the series, ratings and viewership will be the highest of the decade, guaranteed.

Everyone wants to see what Boston can do in the World Series, regardless of who their team is. the yankees could never, ever pull that off. Now tell me who the better team is.

So, you're either saying that the Sox have more fans, or that more people who aren't Sox fans will watch the Sox in the Series, than will non-Yanks fans watch the Yanks. What's your basis? What puts you in the position to make guarantees? Or, is it just b/c you think so?

This will be a highly rated Series under either alternative. I think you're confusing this year with last, but I'd imagine it would be difficult for you to gauge the excitement being on the West Coast where there are no teams playing for the Series. The fact is there are currently two compelling Championship Series - unlike last year - and four very exciting teams. Last year, many saw the ALCS as the real World Series and therefore did not watch the Series. This year, there are no foregone conclusions.

Everyone? Who's everyone? You, your mom, and your sister? Again, what's the basis for that statement? I can just as easily say that everyone wants to see the Yankees - it doesn't make it true. You should say "I" instead of everyone, it's a much safer logical assumption. And the better team will be the one that comes out on top. We'll know tonight or tomorrow.

I am so happy right now, it's not even funny.

A-rod is such a freaking prick for knocking that ball out of Arroyo's glove. Then he got pissed off when it was contested and the umps made the right call.

Seriously, whether we make it to the World Series or not, I don't really care. I'm just stoked we had such a sick comeback. *crosses fingers for game 7

George Carlin is hilarious:

Baseball is different from any other sport; very different. For instance, in most sports you score points or goals; in baseball you score runs.

In most sports the ball or object, is put in play by the offensive team; in baseball the defensive team puts the ball in play, and only the defense is allowed to touch the ball. In fact, in baseball if an offensive player touches the ball intentionally, he's out; sometimes unintentionally, he's out.

Also: In football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and all sports played with a ball, you score withthe ball, and without the ball you can't score. In baseball, the ball prevents you from scoring.

In most sports the team is run by a coach; in baseball the team is run by a manager; and only in baseball does the manager (or coach) wear the same clothing as the players do. If you had ever seen John Madden in his Oakland Raiders football uniform, you would know the reason for this custom.

Now I've mentioned football. Baseball and football are the two most popular spectator sports in this country. And, as such, it seems they ought to be able to tell us something about ourselves and our values. And maybe how those values have changed over the last 150 years. For those reasons I enjoy comparing baseball and football:

Baseball is a nineteenth-century pastoral game.Football is a twentieth-century technological struggle.

Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park!Football is played on a GRIDIRON, in a STADIUM, sometimes called SOLDIER FIELD or WAR MEMORIAL STADIUM.

Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life.Football begins in the fall, when everything is dying.

In football you wear a helmetIn baseball you wear a cap.

Football is concerned with downs. "What down is it?Baseball is concerned with ups. "Who's up? Are you up? I'm not up! He's up!"

In football you recieve a penalty. In baseball you make an error.

In football the specialist comes in to kick.In baseball the specialist comes in to relieve somebody.

Football has hitting, clipping, spearing, piling on, personal fouls, late hitting, and unnecessary roughness.Baseball has the sacrifice.

Football is played in any kind of weather: Rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog...can't see the game, don't know if there is a game going on; mud on the field...can't read the uniforms, can't read the yard markers, the struggle will continue! In baseball if it rains, we don't go out to play. "I can't go out! It's raining out!"

Baseball has the seventh-inning stretch.Football has the two-minute warning

Baseball has no time limit: "We don't know when it's gonna end!"Football is rigidly timed, and it will end "even if we have to go to sudden death."

In baseball, during the game, in the stands, there's kind of a picnic feeling. Emotions may run high or low, but there's not that much unpleasantness. In football, during the game in the stands, you can be sure that at least twenty-seven times you were perfectly capable of taking the life of a fellow human being

And finally, the objectives of the the two games are completely different:

In football, the object is for the quarterback, otherwise known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his recievers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use the shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! "I hope I'll be safe at home!"

Good stuff Vicki!!

MAN WHAT A GAME!!!!

WHAT A COMEBACK!!!!!

HISTORY WAS MADE TONIGHT BY THE RED SOX!!!!.... and AGAINST the yanks no less!!!

Anyway, I truly hope they make me eat my earlier posts. It would be at least as good as a World Series victory just seeing them come back and take 4 straight from the yanks.

As a D-Backs fan (and a big Schilling fan), you gotta love that performance.

Trainers stitch something up in his foot to keep the tendon from popping out, he's bleeding like a stuck pig, in pain, and pulls out a miraculous performance that those mollycoddled "twenty-something" punks in NY can only dream of.

Go BOSOX!!!

arod should have been ejected for knocking the ball PLUS GLOVE off of Arroyos hand. I would have ejected him if i was an ump.

You can't eject someone for doing that.

The Red Sox are now the ONLY team in baseball history to come back from a 3-0 deficit to force a Game 7. If the Yankees lose tonight, I can already hear Steinbrenner yelling in the press conference "There WILL be changes!"

for intentionally knocking the ball out of arroyos hand? I think thats grounds for ejection. if he had knocked it out during the course his normal running, say he was looking away from arroyo, then he would still be called out.

That was what I called dedication. I didn't realize he was bleeding until I was watching Sport Center this morning.

It's way more disgusting, and it's disgusting for guys to dip too. Have you seen the lips and teeth of people who dip?

Yes. I know plenty of guys who've been dipping since they were in HS and their teeth and lips are fine. I guess it depends on how much you do it. I like the high I get from it.

Meh, disgusting. One of the grossest habits I can think of, along with smoking cigarettes. Anyhoo, 1 more run in, and that's it for the sox. Now it's all up to NY to try to schore 7 runs.... yeah, I doubt it too.
