Hi, I just installed a rear set of HAWK HPS pads on my S13(waiting on front rotors). I didn't notice any type of wear indicator, at least in the normal sense... are they integrated into the pad material(ie burried)? Sorry if this is a newb question, but this is the first time I'v used a performance pad, so I don't know if this is normal or not.

Thanks,-Jamie

most of the aftermarket rear pads I've seen don't. Mainly because they wear so slowly. The fronts ussually have the wear indictiors on them, but I've also seen them without them.

Oh, well that's partly good news(the slow wear).

I have heard that some HAWK pads have wear indicators on both pads(as in, both sides of the rotor)... I just assumed they would have one set...

you prolly already know this, but this is off the hawk site...im getting them myself in a few days.

Burnishing Instructions

1. After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure. 2. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph. 3. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES! 4. Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down. After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

Already done, but thanks...

No offense, but even though that post was informative, it had nothing to do with this thread. This is what I consider trolling/post whoaring..

OK just went out and looked and couldn't see one with my wheel on, so im gonna go 79% sure they don't....

Slappy, I know were you coming from, you were just trying to help, and that should never really be discouraged, but its about the same as if some one hopped in with instructions on how to take the caliper off....Its his thread so he is kinda justified in saying what he did, even if he maybe shouldn't have. Your response was just kinda extreme, IMOanyways can we get a group hug? no?...oh never mind then
