I have a 07 nissan with Navi but no dvd. I had no warning that my alternator was going because my dash board light for the battery won't come on no matter what. I had a weird noise and I had it checked out by the shop and they said it was the alternator. So I fixed it myself and put another one on and I still have no power to the battery and I still don't have my dash board lights for the battery symbol.

Please help me and tell me where to go from here. That alternator took me 6 hrs to do by myself without my man's help. And I went the opposite way everyone else did. I took the ac compressed off instead of the manifold. Much less expensive.

Sorry I don't own a Murano, but I have a general idea. I had to replace the alternator of an Infiniti i35 this weekend as well. Apparently there was no indication that the alternator was going o this car either. Normally when you have a bad battery it has a little charge to let you know there might be an issue. With a bad alternator though, I assume your battery discharges so fast and normally when you really lose charge, those instrument lights and center console lights are the first to go... so I don't know if there's a way to test other than my old school "disconnect the negative terminal" test

If the battery indicator light still comes on the dash when the ignition is in the ACC position then I'd say all is working as Nissan intended and no need to worry.

On another note, I approve and live by these statements:
