my car will idle fine for a good 30 seconds and then all of a sudden rev to 2k and hold it there... if i disconnect what seems to be the IAV it goes back to normal... but if i plug it back in it revs up again.. tried adjusted timing to compensate but the computer just pulls it back up again.. any answers will be appreciated...

My first guess would be something's up with the IACV or possibly the MAFS. Might wanna hose down the IACV first and see if that does anything for your idle, it might be getting stuck open or something. Some good ol' carb cleaner should do it. Unless you pull the unit and scrub it down with a toothbrush.

sounds like something stuck... have you checked the AACV motor's resistance?

I'd try scrubbing the IAC and AACV innards as well..
