It's not a 240, but It's Altima, lost traction in 1st gear when the boost hit . I am wondering if I can change the gear ratio by changing the gear ??

ok, first off, thats normal.

with the turbo you have alot more power than you did before.

changing gear ratios is not easy. you have to go to a different differential drive ratio, which affects all the gears, or change out first gear.

either one is not the solution to 1st gear traction issues.

secondly, your car is front wheel drive. when you accelerate, weight transfers to the rear wheels, and reduces the load on the front tires, which reduces their available traction. thats what makes RWD preferable in a performance oriented car.

thats just the way it is. get stickier tires or get used to it.

LSD would help. so would adjusting the camber to zero, and getting some better tires...

I know that a bunch of Spec V people have had problems with severe torque steer. In order to counter it, they would fill their engine mounts with silicone to stiffen them up. If your mounts are in bad condition, you could look into aftermarket, firmer replacements. That'll help a bit.

consider your self lucky, you said its only in first gear. depending on how much boost youre running an avcr may help.

I had that problem in 1st and 2nd gear on my altima before the engine blew from timing issues. I am/was running a higher final drive though, a 4.1, whereas you either are running a 3.8 or 3.6 final drive depending upon whether you have the SE or other gearbox.

Yep start with better tires, then LSD, then you can get a boost controller that will run progressive boost and set it up to boost a little lower in first and then max boost after that.

My Blitz SBC does that and it is great. I have it off from 0-60km/h so I run around 4.8PSI. More than enough to get going with crappy street tires and no LSD. After 60 it jumps to 6.8PSI, that's all I'm gonna run for now. Hopefully later on the 2nd # will increase and I'll even have a three or 4 step program.

With the SBC is that the only way to program ? by km/h ? is there any way to program like maybe by the gear ?

IF you have the Power Meter, you can use the Speed Map function. So boost can only be set by km/h or mph. But just do what I did, figure out either when your gears run out or when you shift up and set it 5km/h higher.

IF you have the optional harness you can wire in a nitrous style switch and use it for scramble boost. So you can control when the kick comes in.

avcr is gear dependent along with other variables too. incase you didnt know.

hmm do you know if the GReddy Profec E01 has anything like this ? or what about the other HKS units ? I really dont care for AVCR it seems to unstable above 18psi.

the E-01 has two steps of boost, low and high, and scramble.

you can setup scramble boost so its momentary/timed/constant

so its really three. im not sure about the mph/gear boost setting, i dont remember reading about it, and ive deleted the pdf.

also, im gonna wire my steering wheel cruise buttons to a buffer/logic board and connect to the E-01 when i setup my project.

im gonna make the bottom cruise button cycle through the boost settings, and the top cruise button scramble boost.
