I have a 90 Q45 when I turn on the head lights the tail light, instrument light and the side marker light does not turn on. The head lights works and the side marker in the front works. I had checked all the fuses and it's in the working. Have anyone experience this problem? Does anyone know where is the relay for the tail light? Any help will be greatly appricated... Thank you.

Have you changed any bulbs recently? Done any electrical work? Are the headlamps stuck on bright and/or the seat switch lights in the doors not working? When I had this problem it was the 4th fuse (3rd?) from the firewall in the middle row of the engine fuse box. Recheck these fuses with a volt meter or put in known good fuses. Fuses can fool you. Sometimes it's hard to see the break.

A few members have had problems with shorted out (melted) bulb receptacles from not using OEM bulbs. There's lots of posts out there for similar issues. Do a search and you'll find lots of good info. Good luck chasing the gremlins.

I did replaced the radio with a Panasonic radio. I have not replaced any light bulds. I tested every fuse with a voltage meter. The door switch and lights works fine. Over the weekend I thought I might have shorted by adding the radio. I removed the whole radio and it's the same problem. Do you know where is the tail light relay is located?

You've got some issues which are going to be difficult to solve on this message board. If you don't have a copy of the FSM you can download it for free at phatg20.net. YOu'll be going nowhere fast without this manual.

There's a lot of sensors and fuses tied into the two circuits you've described- Stoplamp switch, illumination switch, headlamp relay, stop and tail lamp sensor, etc. There's also a sensor activated by the brake pedaal that could be the problem. The stoplamp sensor you asked about looks like it might be in the trunk under the lock but not sure from the picture in the FSM. There's also a test procedure for this sensor on page EL-30.

Follow Brian's advice. Do a search in Infiniti Online Mechanic. I searched for Brake Light and got 4 good hits. Try different searchwords and you'll have a good idea of things you need to check. You'll get more useful information from the searches than we can offer you on this board. Good Luck.
