I have an 89 Nissan 240sx, L4-2389cc 2.4 SOHC MFI KA24E. I replaced the head gasket, when I pulled the head I mark the chain and sprocket. Everything went back together, but now the car tries to start but fails, I have ignition, fuel pressure. I think it might be timing, what else could it be? Alldata only shows the procedures for R&R of the timing chain. I'm wondering if there is any way to set the timing with out pulling the front cover. R&R of timing chain books 9.1 hours. I was hoping theirs a quicker way. Alldata claim theirs a Match mark on the timing chain and sprocket.

its timing. something moved. sometimes you'll get lucky and get the timing chain right back on point. but thats rare.

have fun :)
