Hey Z Forum.. I bought a 1991 300zx NA last year that unfortunately had a blown headgasket on the driverside, So i parked it and started pulling the motor apart to replace the gasket myself and ran into plenty of problems here and there but eventually got the motor apart and got both heads checked and replaced gaskets bolts did coolant hardline deletes along with EGR cause it was bad anyway, Replaced broken harness plugs here and there, Replaced alternator and timing belt, [every belt actually] and have been putting it all back together, I put nearly everything back together (besides radiator and intake tubes) and she wouldnt start but i knew she was getting spark and fuel, Asked around and found out i needed to unplug the maf to get it to start because i didnt have intake together and it would start perfectly. I then put all the belts back on the car and the fan, after doing that she refuses to start and the only thing im missing on the car is the PCV isnt installed or ran. it ran perfectly before putting alt ps and ac belt on along with the fan now she just cranks and doesnt try to even pop off. Running out of ideas and i was pointed towards posting here to seek help.. Any help would be greatly appreciated..Really miss driving this old girl!!

Thanks again,

Frost

If it ran before something likely changed changed. Go through and check your connections, especially the TPS, MAS, CTS, O2, CAS, PTU Injector and COP's. there is a good chance something got jostled a bit, some of these connections can be quite finicky.

I've gone through every connection and havent came across any that are loose or disconnected, Might i add that after leaving it alone for awhile (a few days) it started very roughly and idled at 1 grand and i tried to give it some gas and it stalled out and didnt start once again afterwards. It wont even start enough for the ecu to pick up any issues. it reads 55 still.

I have constant fuel flow, checked filter and such. Fuel pump kicks and stays a even flow of fuel

You said PCV isn't hooked up. Do you have the ports capped off?

calibrate the tps and have a look at the mas, RPM related issues usually stem from the tps or the mas

IAC maybe? stuck closed. If you held the throttle maybe a 1/4 and cranked it would it start? doesn't explain why when it runs it stalls. doesn't hurt to try though.

At this point I'd suggest using the fsm for tests and such regarding your problem, there are a myriad of potential issues and you will need to test your way through them all to find your issue(s). Be aware that often a couple of issues can be at hand, and solving one might not clear things up or let you know you are on the right path but which the fsm will help keep you moving until you have some numbers and such to work from, and to report back to us for more help/opinions if necessary...much better than the current guess-fest here.
