I know there's forums on here for no start issues and I've read them and know a few things, been through all the problems on these cars but I was frustrated today and wanted to ask if anyone had some leads that I can brainstorm on since i'm stuck at work with my car at home not running and it's driving me nuts.

I went home for lunch today, car ran just like it always does, no issues whatsoever. Got home, went inside for about 20 mins then came back out, car fired up and then stalled within 1 second. It will no longer start. I know it has fuel pressure, I checked the PTU and CAS connectors (the most basic stuff I could do with a pocket screwdriver and limited time trying to rush to work). I ended up taking my truck and leaving it at home. It's weird that it was perfectly fine before I parked it. The car has no wiring harness issues like most since it was garage kept, harness has no corrosion, 85k miles, etc. It's just completely dead like it lost spark. I'm trying to come up with ideas before heading home so I know what tools to take with me. Anyone have any ideas how it would just go out like that?

Got home and started tinkering today. Got no spark and only DTCs is a code 13 which wont cause this problem.

Battery terminal connections? Did you test the ptu? Or just check the connections. Blown main relay? Just thinkin

That's what I'm wondering if its a relay that failed. Weird a ptu would just go out without any misfires or stumbles before it went out completely. Not saying its not possible. Going to pull cas too and turn it to see if it makes a spark. Bad storm rolled in today around 4 so I didn't get much done to it. Lots to check but at least ignition is easier to fix than fuel on these

Actually a code 13 can cause all kinds of weird problems (ask me how I know). The ecu relies on the coolant temp sensor to accurately set timing, so when it goes bad it can totally throw ignition timing off. Plus if you've been running it like that it most likely thinks the engine is too cold and dumping fuel. Same thing happened to me, drove to the gas station, filled up, went to start it and nothing. Just cranks and cranks.

Try replacing it with a parts store one and see what happens, they aren't expensive.

Figured it out. Ground on back of the intake was corroded underneath. Cleaned it all up and she fired up like nothing ever happened. May still change the CTS and clean connector since it does seem to want to idle high sometimes and bogs after shifting which could all be related to that.
