My son has a 93 240 sx with a KA engine. First it would start but gas would be coming out the exhaust. I found #3 injector faulty, as well a the FPR. Car still doesn't start. There is spark and fuel. I brought it to TDC, int is at 12 and exh is at 3, with rotor pointing at #1. Is this right? I figured I'd start from the begining, actual timing. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Paul

I checked codes, and found 34, knock sensor. will this keep car from starting? Only way I see how is by retarting the timing too much. Checked compression, took out dist. to check injector pulses, everything seemed fine.

Thanks, Paul

the knock sensor will not cause a nostart. are the plugs wet? it may just be flooded.

i think you chain may be off a bit

Plugs are a little wet, but it's not flooded. I asked my son if he messed with the chain, and he said no. What else could it be?? I'm stumped!!

could be maf sensor(try unplugging it and see if that helps), coolant temp sensor, and a few other elec. goodies. if your cams were the way you described then 1)you may have turned the crank just a little too much or 2) your valve timing is off. a compression test could not hurt at this point.

Thanks Chris, I'll try the MAF and collant sensor. Compression test was good.
