I'm almost out of options with finding a solution for my 90' 240sx. It's been sitting in the parking lot at my work for a month now. It will crank, but it won't start. At first, we thought that we had a fuel problem, we pulled the plugs and they were dry, so we replaced the EGI relay, and got our pulse back to the injectors. Checked blink codes from ECU; None. We've got a very erratic spark. We tried switching out the distributor, mine is the Mitsubishi, nothing. Checked the resistance of the coil. It was 0.8 Ohms on a very cold day. Checked power to the coil, we have it. Checked power to the transister, we have it. All connections and grounds appear good. Baffeled, someone please help. Thanks

so you now have fuel but no spark? the injectors are more or less controlled by the same stuff as the spark. what method are you using to check the spark? you may want to open the ecm and check for corrosion.

Tried switching out the transistor on the Ignition coil bracket tonight as well; nothing. I'm pulling a plug with it hooked up to the wire to check for spark. I'm going to try pulling out the ECM to check for corrosion tomorrow. Thanks, I'll let you know.

cool some one with the same problem. mine, wanted to start also, it was mis firing drastically. it had a spark and distributer was set where it needed to be. i found out that whoever put in my oil pump didn't aling the dots and didn't place it back in right, so my tdc for spark plug no. 1 was on the wrong position, then what i checked the time chain and the top cam for my rockers was 180 degrees off so i set the notch on the sprocket(the device that the chain is on) pointing up and found that there's a litthe arrow and that's where it needs to be aligned. before you align it make sure that the camshaft is at t.d.c.. i finished this and all my setttings where correct so i rechecked every thing and put back the oil pump. it lined up perfectly to the no.1 position on the distributer cap. i started yesterday morning and finished about midnight makeing sure everything was to spec....this baby purrrrrrrrrrrssssssssss was very happy that we got it started. if you want to sell that nissan name the price i might just buy it from you. my question is i found this r1 racing oil at autozone and it seems to be a better oil for the engine, has any one else used this oil? hopefully this helps some one

racing oil has no detergent, anti-rust, and some other additives. it is only good for short periods of time(like one race).
