Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if you could help me out. I installed a Python 990 Alarm Remote Start Combo on my 07 G35. I installed it on amanual trans. The install went smoothly before the clutch bypass part. I got it to start but when you pushed the clutch in, it engaged the starter. I tried diode isolation the wire on the clutch switch but that didn't work. Needless to say I was trying a variety of ways until finally the car wouldn't crank over at all. Not even starting it regularly with the key. I checked the fuses. Is there a relay or something I need to check. The 2 starter wires in the ignition harness (red/white and white/green) are getting 12 volts when you turn the key, but I get nothing, no crank or anything. I know there is a switch on the top of the clutch with 2 wires and a switch when the pedal is depressed with 2 wires. Has anyone ran into this problem? Is there a reset or something? I am totally baffled. Thanks for all your help in advance!!

Welcome to NICO

INMHO I think you are making a mistake by installing this yourself?

I quickly skimmed over the owners manual & didn't see any reference to installation in a vehicle with a manual transmission. At 10 degrees, my G starts giving out heat in three minutes after starting so I would never even consider it. But thats just me.Even if you do get this working if something should ever go wrong and cause any kind of damage just the fact that it was not professionally installed by a qualified dealer leaves you open to possible legal claims.

Did you try calling

Quality Directed Electronics products are sold and serviced throughout North Americaand around the world.Call (800) 274-0200 for more information about our products and services.Vista, CA 92081http://www.directed.com© 2006 Directed Electronics—All rights reserved

Even if it eventually works that means you can never leave you car in gear rather than using the emergency brake in cold weather.

Do you know anyone with a manual transmission that has one?

If it were me, I'd return it

Sorry to be so negative

Make sure it is legal to do so?

Nevermind. I figured out the problem. I was pulling my hair out over a fuse. I forgot there is another fuse box behind the battery under the cowl. I just needed a relay for the clutch bypass and everything works great. I never leave the car in gear. I always just use the e-brake. I've installed on manuals trans before. Thanks for the help!!

wouldnt reccomend a remote start on a manual transmission... its too easy to leave the car in gear, hit that button, and your G is off to the races til it stalls... ive seen it happen... be extra careful with that...

There is a neutral sensor on the transmission you can tag at the ecu for the black white wire off the unit. It won't let it start unless the car is in neutral. Set it up this way in my Max and if you knock the shifter towards a gear after it is started it will cut out.
