No Speedemeter or Tach Lights

Hey I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima...I just replaced the instrument cluster but still, i have no speedometer or tach lights, also the lights on the shifter(its an automatic) arent working either....I know the red/black and black/red wires are for the lights but the radio i have doesnt have a dimmer wire....What can i do? its no a fuse or anything simple iv already checked everything....its definatly something in the wiring....Help would be amazing

yeah its not the fuse....its definatly the wiring. Also when installing my radio my harness was cut out so i used a 9volt battery to find the speakers, when touching the 9 volt to speaker wires somehow the dash lights and shifter lights light up. I know there has to be a power loss because when turning my headlights on the digital clock dims, indicating not enough power

Have you checked to make sure you don't have the dimmer switch turned all the way down?

nah the dimmer switch isnt working, theres no wire hooked up to it...like i said i have the red/yellow and black/red wires that are supposed to hook up to your radio...i have a sony cdx 110 radio if that helps...theres no dimmer wire on the radio...therefore the wires arent hooked up to anything! what do i do with the wires???

The rheostat(dimmer)has to be hooked up or the insturment lights will not function.

its before the dimmer switch though....sorry for being a pain in the *** this is killing me though i have court next week for a speeding ticket and i was hoping to have this fixed.....theres dimmer wires that normally go to your radio, but my radio doesnt have a dimmer wire...what do i do?
