Hi,
Do a quick check, remove the CAS (camshaft angle sensor), with the ignition is on the on position, turn the CAS by hand and listen to the fuel rail getting pressurized, also, with one spark plug out, have the sparkplug plugged into the coil and the spark plug itself is grounded, when you do that, turn the cas by hand and see if there is a spark generated on the sparkplug.I have seen where the exhaust camshaft has the lip broken where the cas plugs in.The engine will turn but the cas won't due to a broken camshaft lip where the cas plugs in.
If you still don't have a spark, check for any unconnected grounds.
You mentioned a wire that you aren't sure where it goes, did you check the fsm to see where it goes, do you have access to an fsm?
Good luck,
