Ok... i just swapped my Ka24de back in after having an sr20 in the car...

it is the original motor out of the car, although my friend did have it in his 89 for a few months. I swapped the dash connector that i had on my sr20 harness back to the ka24de harness (cause it was converted for his 89)

I tried to start the car and i have no spark comming out of the coil. I DO HAVE FUEL, and all my grounds have been tested. i have tried putting the coil wire near ground and turning the motor over. there is NO SPARK.

so far i have replaced:

-coil (tried 3 different ones)-power transistor chip (thing next to coil...also tried 3)-ECU (originaly i was running the auto ecu, now im back to a M/T)-distributor-also i got new wires

I have also checked continuity between the distributor plug and ecu..all is good.

the ecu is throwing 2 codes, one for the CAS signal (simply saying it wont run) and the other is the ignition signal code.

*** Does anyone have any ideas to why my car wont spark?****

EDIT:i have now followed ALL procedures for checking code 21 (diognostic procedure 27) and for testing all electical components (distributor, coil, powertransistor, and resistor)... ALL CHECKED OUT!!!

THANKS!

check fuses possible blown fuse throwing code. No cas its not gonna run.Check connections at your sensors might be bad connection or bent pin.

no fuses in the engine compartment are blown... all the pins are fine, including the pins on the ecu.

check why your not getting any signal from your cas, bad sensor ?make sure you have voltage going into sensor and coming out of it when cranking

i am getting power to the distributor, and it does put out a signal...i tested this by putting it "ON"...and hand spinning the crank....the multimeter showed voltage, and the fuel pump turned on every time it showed signal.

not to say your stupid but is the rotor inside the distributor.Do you have power and ground to your coil.

like i said... i have been thru 2 distributors, both have the rotors... and i have tested all power/ground/continuity/signal according to the FSM and my own logic.

what about your coil?you didnt respond to what i wrote about it. But with out looking at your car I can only throw this out here for you to check. Good look. Take a test light and put it on your coil positive and ground wire(not sure which one the ecu controls) and turn the motor over your test light should pulse if not your not getting signal.

one more thing not sure if your car has it but might have an auto shutdown relay if this relay is not getting energized my the ecu you will not get spark check the relays. hope this helps you out

yes there is power going into the coil when ign is "on" via the black/red wire. the ground is also good. there is continuity along the lg/b wire between the resistor, power transistor, and the coil. i have been using a multimeter, so you cant really tell if a signal is being sent, or if its just putting out voltage. i think im going to try what i did to check the distributor...

-im gunna turn the ign to on-hook up the multimeter to test the y/r wire going into the resistor (signal wire)-spin the crank with a ratchet so it can go slower

this worked for the distributor, showing signal as i spin it.

unfortunatly im back at college for a few weeks so i cant go outside and check things as people ask about them

i told you how to check signal with a test light. you might not be able to read the signal by turning it with a rachet suggest turning by key.The relay will be in the fuse panel and you can get a buddy to turn the key on and you can feel or hear the relays energize look on the panel cover to find the asd relay(auto shut down) panel should be under hood ..good luck

uk i just realized u are the same guy claiming to make 270rwhp on a ka24de.... and suddenly i dont think i should be following ur advice!!

theres no "autoshutdown relay"...i checked the fsm and all over a few sites...

O WAIT...maybe that is what gave u 270hp, i should sure as hell get one of those then. it must be cool to have a magic 240

its a ka24e you dumb**** damn you cant even read , your ingnition relay is inside the car under the instrument panel in the fuse block if that is good then your igniter might be bad

then i drove my car for a month....then i ran into a telephone pole....

then i bought a k1500 fullsized blazer....

but thanks for the help, lol
