I recently finished the swap of the S13 SR20DET in a 1991 Nissan Hardbody Pickup and the wiring seemed simple I crossed referenced it with the wiring schematics of a 1990 240sx. Anyways I tried to start it today and it cranks but no spark at all. I checked both sides of the ignitor chip and no power on either side? Fuses all fine. The ECM has no power coming from the relay so I will check that but what else could I check after I get power to ECM or could this fix the problem? Any help is appreciated also if anyone knows someone that has done this swap maybe they could help. Thanks

check here

you want to have power and ground at all the right places. first things first. get the ecm to turn on with the key. then make sure the ecm gets the start signal as the car will crank but not run if the ecm does not realize you are trying to start up. then see if you have spark. if not the crank sensor may be no good.

I now ran the computer hot from the battery to see if it would atleast start and nothing. The computer did get power but it produced nothing no fuel or spark. The red code light on the ECM stayed on constantly when it had power. I tried my old KA24E computer to see if it would turn its little LED light on and it did but the green LED turned on not the red code light. Now with that in mind is my ECM bad? Is there a way to test the ECM's? I have no clue I am stumped right now but have not yet given up.

shoot, i have no sr20det ecm in front of me right now. i want to say that key on, the red light should be on and stay on. the sr ecm does not have a green lamp correct? try to check the codes by turning the diag screw. also, you will not get fuel or spark without the start signal from the ign switch. does the orange wire from the link is posted have 12v when cranking?

Ya I talked to Heavy throttle and they said the red led stays on. I took your advice checked the orange ignition wire and it had no power so i hot wired it just to get it to start and it did start but it idled like crap. The A/F gauge was pegged out on lean and needed throttle to keep on. I pulled the plugs to see them and the number 1 and 3 cylinder spark plugs were BLACK BLACK and the 2 and 4 cylinder plugs were dripping in fuel. I have no idea on what could be wrong. Could the ignitor chip, MAFS, or Crank Angle sensor be bad. Any help is appreciated.
