I have a S14 Kouki SR20DET in an S13 chassis. I did the wiring and swap myself. Everything works great, I can even drive it around, but I have no spark in piston #2. I have replaced the plugs, coil pack, and igniter chip. I have switched all of these components with other pistons to make sure they work. I have triple checked my pins, connectors and wires for continuity to the ECU. My ECU code is A18-F01 G08. I can find nothing on this ECU (other than the one on Ebay for 200 bucks)

Anyone with any ideas as to why I have no spark? I can only think that my ECU is busted.

do a compression check and make sure you have compression

He said he has no spark from the no. 2 piston. Which I assume he visually checked himself.

It has to be a wiring issue. If you replaced what you say you did and hopefully they all work then it has to be wiring. Did you try swapping coil packs with a cylinder you know works?

Must be a wiring issue if you tried the coil pack in another cylinder and it fired. Check everything from the coilpack back with a volt meter and see what you get

I checked the compression, its low on all pistons, but inside of spec. I checked the spark signal with an ocsillascope, and the sign is there and strong. The plug will fire when outside and against the intake. The plug also has fuel an it when I pull it out after running it a bit.

Any suggestions? Reset the CAS?

I set the CAS per instructions on FRSport.com (http://www.frsport.com/How-To-Set-Crank ... _t_25.html) now it wont start at all!!!

Also my CAS has two notches, both are very close. I tried seting it to both of them and no effect.

Redo your timing. You might be 180 degree's off. Those notches should line up when you pop it into the cam.

I did the timing per instructions on FRSport.com. Set the engine to the second to the left timing mark, pull the CAS out, set it so the notch and the orange whole lined up, and pushed it back in straight. it still wont start, eventhough it ran on 3 pistons before (when i just haphazardly inserted the CAS without checking the position).

it was suggested that this could be a fuel injector problem. 95 300zx TT injectors work right? what seals do i need? upper and lower?

how can the timing be off by 180 when i pushed the CAS in with marks lined up to TDC. even assuming the CAS shifts when i insert it, it cant be off more than 20 in either direction.

the car won't start if its 180 out, try starting the car and while its at idle tap the injector with a wrench, or something. It could be frozen this is pretty common.

so the cylinder is getting spark its just a dead cylinder correct?

Installing the CAS 180 Degree's off happens quite often. I had to redo my timing 3 times before I got it. It happens alot.

well i found all the bits, and put it all back together, and now it works, has a bit of valve noise but it runs fine.
